Janice Chesnik, CHK
Janice Chesnik has been making kaleidoscopes for over 22 years now and is recognized as a leader in her field. She currently resides in southern California and has won many awards for her kaleidoscopes.
Janice and Ray Chesnik founded Chesnik Scopes in 1980, and Janice's son, Jon Greene, joined them in 1990, handcrafting a full line of brass- and chrome-plated kaleidoscopes using a variety of beautiful materials in their wheels which are created using stained glass techniques. Each kaleidoscope features a magnifying lens and front-surface mirrors for the clearest optics.
In 2007, Jon took over the business, allowing his folks to enjoy their much deserved semi-retirement. In 2010, Jon and his wife Suzanne, opened their own gallery, Cape Kaleidoscopes, on Cape Cod in Mashpee, Massachusetts. Jon is the Artist-in-Residence, and he can often be seen creating the fascinating wheels of his kaleidoscopes right at the front window for people to watch.
