"Baby Satellite in Black" by Rollin Karg is a sculptural piece consisting of a metal base and a hand blown piece of glass. The glass has a small hole in the back which hangs on the metal base. This piece is 7" tall by 6" wide.
The glass piece is the in tBlack which is a signature color of Rollin's collection. The color is made by combining dichroic glass with a black background that features stripes and dots of different colors encased in clear glass. Dichroic glass contains micro metal flakes which allow the glass to become iridescent and shimmer.
"Who said that art isn’t functional? Art gives any static location life. Glass sculptures are a dynamic, dimensional and intoxicating art form that creates a level of sophistication and aesthetic beauty… anywhere." — Rollin Karg
