Anne Nye, ANG
Anne studied fine art at the University of Idaho and California College of the Arts and University of Idaho in the 60’s, completing course work for a BFA. She worked as a graphic designer and illustrator for many years and in 1997 began working as a full time artist. Since 2000, Anne has worked primarily on her own in kiln formed glass developing her painterly style and techniques.
“I am passionate about using nature as a springboard to create a sense of wonder and awareness of our connection to the land. In my current work the glass is manipulated, respectfully probing the boundaries of the medium, into a painterly topographical abstraction. The multiple low firings create an interaction of textures inviting the viewer in close enough to touch and question and then to step back and view the whole.”
